That little star twinkling above, comfort me
Tonight is the night where everything collapses with no where else to rest

if i fall once, there is no end
how do i explain my love for thoughts of you, and the beauty of yerim's voice with denny's and his comforting strums harmonizing it?

pitch black
Old song, but I find it incredibly inspiring. Although it is merely 3:46, it was a 3:46 that started it all. Although it is only 3:46 long, it's enough to make me think, "What the hell have I been writing all these while?". That's right. This is the person I was referring to in my older post.
Why I decided to watch this in the first place was a completely different reason, though.

a song for anywhere
One of the greatest, most powerful songs I have ever listened to. One that gives you strength and lift your spirit. Please, listen to it and understand the deeper meaning.

since the rain is falling, i think i might fall as well
Now
I erased all of you
I emptied out all of you
But when the rain falls again
All the memories of you I hid with effort
It all comes back, it must be looking for you
I erased all of you
I emptied out all of you
But when the rain falls again
All the memories of you I hid with effort
It all comes back, it must be looking for you

no other but you
Forgive me for posting this after keeping silent for over one month, but this is just pure happiness.
Ah, Heenim.

hujan bunga
Have you heard of Ana Raffali?
I first knew about her through The Star's R.AGE column. There was a big photo of her wearing a lovely cream baju kebaya and holding a beautiful mahogany-coloured guitar. That photo really attracted my attention. A few days later, I searched for her song, Hujan Bunga di Kuala Lumpur in YouTube. I was instantly mesmerized.
Ana was an English teacher, believe it or not. But then, she realized that she loves writing songs and singing more than she loves teaching. Most of her songs are in Bahasa Malaysia, attributed to her love of her native language. Besides, she usually wears baju kurung or baju kebaya when performing as "they are more comfortable".
She opened my eyes to see that my native language is beautiful. She made me realized that everyone looks dazzling in our traditional clothes. She inspired me to write more wonderful songs. Most importantly, she taught me to just be myself and feel good about it.
Just watch this number, and you'll understand why I fell in love with her (:

the sun will rise again
the signal that changes from red to green
in the midst of a journey of no return
I want to go forward believing in tomorrow
alone in this evening shower
there may be times when I stop and look back
but I won't be afraid of anything
in the midst of a journey of no return
I want to go forward believing in tomorrow
alone in this evening shower
there may be times when I stop and look back

life is a song to sing along (:
Well life is a dream 'cause we're all walking in our sleep
You could see us stand in lines like we're dead upon our feet
And we build our house of cards and then we wait for it to fall
Always forget how strange it is just to be alive at all
You could see us stand in lines like we're dead upon our feet
And we build our house of cards and then we wait for it to fall
Always forget how strange it is just to be alive at all

hold me as I fall
Baby it's you
When I look up in the sky I see you
Then I turn and close my eyes
It's you
When I'm sitting all alone in my room
Everything reminds me of you
When I look up in the sky I see you
Then I turn and close my eyes
It's you
When I'm sitting all alone in my room
Everything reminds me of you

hear the silence
When asked what my hobby is, I would simply answer I like reading. Well, I do like reading, except that reading is just one of my side hobbies.
To be very honest, what I love to do most is to just sit or lie alone somewhere quiet, and listen to musics using the earplugs. You know, just listening to the harmony and magical sound that came from the instruments, the lovely voice of the singers, every bit of words of the lyrics; and capturing the stories behind the songs. I love doing that.
Let me tell you about this Japanese song. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it on YouTube. I immediately downloaded the video, started hunting for the MP3 file, and searched both the lyrics and the translation. Then I played it over and over and over. And yes, I'm still hearing it now by the time I'm writing this. The song actually is very simple, but yet so beautiful for me. Here's some of the translation for its lyrics:
And there's another song that had me thinking about my school life which is almost coming to the end these past few days. Each time I listened to it, I would be thinking about what will happen after this. What will happen to us. No one has the answer, right? You know, in my entire school life, I had wanted nothing more than to end it and be an adult. But the fact that it is coming to the end now scares me. Somehow the real world outside there seems very frightening. And somehow, I just want to be in school, with the people that I know:')

The rainbow is really pretty
No, it's you that's prettier

But tonight we feel like stars
We'll play our air guitars
Cause we're eighteen
We'll play our air guitars
Cause we're eighteen

feel the wind
And through timeless words and priceless pictures
We’ll fly like birds not of this earth
And tides they turn and hearts disfigure
But that’s no concern when we’re wounded together
And we tore our dresses and stained our shirts
But it’s nice today, oh the wait was so worth it
We’ll fly like birds not of this earth
And tides they turn and hearts disfigure
But that’s no concern when we’re wounded together
And we tore our dresses and stained our shirts
But it’s nice today, oh the wait was so worth it

for the rest of the days
Hush now, don't shake or break
Words have fallen silent like soldiers to the grave
No matter what they do or say
Lay me on the sleepy meadows by the tracks upon your face
Words have fallen silent like soldiers to the grave
No matter what they do or say
Lay me on the sleepy meadows by the tracks upon your face

and i'll finally see
don't you run too fast, my dear
why don't you stop?
just stop and listen to your tears
they're all you've got
why don't you stop?
just stop and listen to your tears
they're all you've got

for real
I was touched by this scene. It's like finally we could see everyone's soft, vulnerable part. Like finally we know that we are all the same. We all have been hurt. We all have lost something, someone so precious. And we are all just human.
It's funny though, that we only get to know someone when we found out their sad history, when they have fallen. Only then we felt sorry for them and regret our earlier harsh words to them. We regret letting pride and ego conquer ourselves.
I guess that's what we all are. Just human being human.

roses
Ugly Betty open up your eyes
Today is gonna be a perfect day
Ugly Betty, what about that smile
The kind that makes the coldest heart melt
Oh how you bloom, under sunshine
What you are is beautiful
Far beyond what the others see
What you are is beautiful
Defined by love and the kindest soul
You're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Ugly Betty, so what's it gonna be
Will you stand up for yourself or will you leave
Ugly Betty, the stars align for you
The rest is up to what you make or do with it
And how you bloom under sunshine
What you are is beautiful
Far beyond what the eye can see
What you are is beautiful
Defined by love and the kindest soul
You're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Betty, you're beautiful
Ugly Betty open up your eyes
Today is gonna be a perfect day

sunny days
Made a wish, I can dream
I can be what I want to be
Not afraid to live my life
And fulfill my fantasies
I learnt a lot of tricks to help me live my life
You helped me find my paradise
When you came I saw
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel like I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far
Reaching out, for the highs
You inspired me to try
I felt the magic inside
And I felt that I could fly
I'm looking at the world in an optimistic light
You made me appreciate my life
'Cos when you came you were my
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel like I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far
You are the calm
I am the storm
You are the breeze that carries me on
When I said a truth
You wink at me
You're there for me
Sunshine (oh yeah)
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star

maybe tomorrow
What's this life anyway?
What's it to you and me?
What's it to anyone?
Who are we supposed to be?
Make me a storybook
Write me away from here
I need a different now
What's it to you and me?
What's it to anyone?
Who are we supposed to be?
Make me a storybook
Write me away from here
I need a different now
