what remained

Once when I was in primary school, my art teacher asked us to make a giant bookmark with a quote or an idiom on it. I made a sakura, and was quite proud of it since I'm not really good in art.

Several weeks later, I saw the bookmark I made on a board in the hallway. I'm telling you, the feeling of seeing something you made being displayed is a good one. Especially when you don't often see them being displayed. I was really overjoyed. I smiled every time I passed the board.

However several months later, my giant sakura were removed. I somehow felt that my name was removed from the school history along with my bookmark.

Unlike me, my sister and brother have their name carved. My sister's at a trophy, my brother's; his school hall. 5, 10, 20 years later, the new generations may not know them. But having their name carved there, they will be remember as someone who had achieved their very best.

And me? I don't know what had happened to my sakura afterward. But I know where it would be heading: the dustbin.

:( Yeah, it's sort of a dream for your name to be somewhat cemented in school history, oh well, there's always college :D
